LBJ
I enjoyed the museum alot, I liked how the exhibit on the main floor showed all of LBJ's life from the good moments and to the bad. At times though some of the information was lacking, but it is just an exhibit its not going to provide all the details. Although the information was lacking, seeing a summary of the time period he lived along with the video helped me at least understand the man just a little more than I did before. The Vietnam war section was also nice to see since we are studying that time period. Along with the emphasis on the year of 1968 showed all the happenings in the world, including the TET offensive, seeing all these other problems going on such as the riots it becomes clear why Johnson just in the end knew he had failed and decided to not run for reelection. The next floor was really interesting to see all the gifts from different heads of state and the letters from children was something I did not expect at all. One in particular was of a 9 year old who wrote to Johnson asking for no more wars and to bring the troops home. The recreation of the oval office when Johnson lived there was also very interesting by it brought the visitors back into the time of his presidency just a little more. All and all i enjoyed going through the museum and looking through everything it had to offer.
