Our Video

So when this idea first came up, I got excited about making a video because I like this kind of stuff. I remember in high school, I made a few videos for class and it was a fun experience. However, this kind of video is very different than those videos.

I find this project difficult because we first have to make an argument which I think was hard for everyone since we spent a whole class period deciding on it. Secondly, there's so much thought that has to go into this and it's pretty overwhelming. I mean, I'm glad our video will be thought-provoking but this is such a new thing to me that it seems kind of intimidating. To help with my anxiety, I should just keep in mind that we're not experts on making movies and to not expect perfection. As one of the music composers, it's definitely a challenge to come up with ways to select music for the video since it's going to contribute to its rhetoric. I've thought about this and I think watching more episodes of The Daily Show will aid in remedying this problem since we're basing our video off it. It'll be good to take note of what kind of music they play on the show, how long they play it, and how they use it to make their arguments. Lindsey and I are also not knowledgeable about all of the technical issues but we're getting a lot of help from Alan who actually has software that would enable us to get the music (yay). Another thing I feel we should work on is the google document. It just looks somewhat chaotic. I think from now on we should enter the date and separate the days with a horizontal line to separate our thoughts according to when they were addressed because sometimes when I read it, I don't know how old the comment was. Alan, Lindsey, and I also started a To Do List which I think will help us stay organized and efficiently show what exactly needs to be done.
