Expect the Unexpected

Expect the Unexpected.
I’ve read everyone’s blog up until now. It’s not a big surprise to see everyone in a big shock as to how much more work this is compared to writing rhetorical analysis. I’ve been struggling to get over this flu! Kidding, but honestly though, this flu has been preventing to even try to speak out a lot in class, because my throat is inflamed and I have a hard time breathing normally without coughing. Talking makes my throat drier and therefore results in a million coughs after speaking. I’m really trying to get over it and although I wake up every day feeling like the dump, I’m still going to try. I think the main problem for me right now (besides being sick) is trying to understand the concept, roles, what the heck everyone is doing =)
I’m pretty sure everyone sees me sometimes standing in front of the class at the podium looking confused and trying to see what’s going on. I agree with another blogger, there’s just so much going on even I have trouble catching on what’s up to date. I felt like our small group discussions were worthwhile when we first did it, but now it has kind of been useless for some of us. Because in the end, the only ones that have something to say are those that are actively playing a role as their position states right now, soon there will come a time when they won’t have much to say and the others will speak out more.
I do feel like a part of that problem is that although we have been assigned our positions, there is still that feeling to where some may feel like they’re obligated to do or say something, NOW, which kind of where the craziness and confusion goes on. I don’t object to everyone speaking out in class, but as someone said in the blog, we’re not getting to where we need to be, our destination, by the time class is over. I absolutely agree.
I never knew we had a camera problem to be honest; I’ve been saying that my camera is available and whatnot to record so we can get a head start. We don’t have a 3-day time limit with my camera. I believe what we need to do as a group is actually tell each other what we’re doing, what shots we’re going to make, and whatnot; because I kind of feel that at least half of the class doesn’t know what’s happening and what everyone else is doing.
Yes, we are trying to present an argument and rhetorically analyze things, in the end, we are making a short film. A short film will always be a short film. So what we all have to do now is just put our heads into the game, know what our roles are and be prepared to fulfill our roles of our positions because I’m ready to help finalize this project and finish it. Lets just all understand this has to take time, frustrations will come, a lot of work will be put into this, but the most we can do is just get to work! =)
So this all ties into what I think I’ve been lacking. I’ve been lacking the knowledge of what everyone else is doing. I’m still kind of foggy on the concept, honestly I think it’d help if a designated person (maybe one of the producers) will stand up in front of the class and states specifically what we’re doing and what we have/what we’re missing/what we’re waiting on etc. so the entire class may understand the whole dealio. Also, expect the unexpected, we all should know that Kryz didn’t let us choose 2 roads (1 being to continue on with the syllabus, the other is to take a new route and do this short film) just because one is easier and the other is hard. We knew what we’re getting ourselves into, so end it strong! We really only have a month left =)
Sorry if I sound mean! I’m not trying to, read my blog happily please =)
HAPPY THOUGHTS! Let’s get work done!!!!
