Difficulties of our Video Essay

When first being presented with the idea of making a documentary/video, I was excited and curious to see what would happen. However, the excitement and hype has settled and drifted away because it did not occur to me how challenging this project would be for our class. Very few of us have experience with cameras and the other equipment needed. Another difficulty for our class is having to coordinate all of our ideas and jobs into one final product. It is so much easier to just focus on your job and do what you want but you can't do that, you have to think about everyone else and see how you can fit your piece to the big puzzle. 

Some problems with my job as the interviewer is getting in contact with high school teachers in Austin. Since most of us did not attend school in Austin, that has been a challenge. Also coordinating a time to get interviews from students in West Mall. Since me and Christina don't know how to work a video camera, we have to talk to multiple people to work out a good time for all of us. The main problem with this project is that I feel like there is so much work to be done in so little time. It is stressful to think about how many things there are to do to get the finished product. Although it is a learning experience and very interesting, it is very overwhelming, especially when we have 3 or 4 other classes to worry about and stay on top of as well.
