Personal Thoughts..
Mamma Mia! Class discussion from Thursday helped me understand the movies so much. For example, hearing thoughts from my classmates of both of the movies helped me understand the concept of the movies. My least favorite genre of movies are action-war movies. Sometimes here and there I will enjoy an action movie but other than that I will not understand the plot of the movie. Discussion on Thursday was quite enjoying. I don't speak up in class but I do have many thoughts going through my head. I am a quiet person and find it hard at times to speak up during discussions. In Thursday's class, I don't recall who, but someone had mentioned how high school classes just brief through the Vietnam War. I find that very insulting to those that fought for our country in this war. Very briefly discussing this in class does not mean you covered the Vietnam War. But I feel that in Texas it is mentioned very briefly due to the fact that Lyndon B. Johnson was from Texas and that this was the first war we had lost. I know this isn't something to be proud of discussing but think about all the lives that were lost. The men that died in pain to fight for our nation. I do think high school History classes should go more into depth about the war than just briefing through basic facts in one day. I know in my History class from high school, we just did one or two assignments and then moved on to the topic. I know for a fact that in my college History class, we didn't even go over the Vietnam War. Coming into this class has helped me gain more valuable knowledge of the Vietnam War and made me despise those who teach History classes that just brief through over the war. I feel that today's generation have a right to know the history of how and why we lost a war, so in the future, things can be changed.
